Tom's Race Report from Firebird East

2/18/2006 - 2/19/06 Chandler, AZ - with CCS

 

Had 70 laps on front tire from Fontana. It felt OK and looked fine. Talked with Mark and Dale about how long the 1246 front should last and they were talking about the same thing. Used the same tire all day Saturday and I just keep getting slower. Realized another important lesson. The tire felt "OK" but was really getting bad slowly. Put a new one on Sunday morning and turned my best lap of the weekend in GP qualifing, :58.02 just missing the :57's. Getting off the bike after qualifying got a spasm in my back and the rest of the day times just got worst.
